Portable Appliance Testing (PAT Testing)

PAT testing is the regular test and inspection of portable appliances i.e. Toasters, computers, heaters etc.

It is designed to ensure that alliances are continuing to be safe to use. This is particularly important when appliances are being used in the public domain i.e hotels or rented properties. In many cases in these situations it is a condition of insurance.

We can carry out PAT tests to your property, this may be a couple of items in a tenanted flat or hundreds of items in a hotel.

Is it law?

Landlords & employers are obligated to ensure that all electrical appliances and fittings within the property are safe and in good working order. Failure to comply with the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 1994 is a criminal offence.
